New precinct built, inaugurated in Toledo

3 February 2013

A new police precinct was recently inaugurated in Toledo City, Cebu. It was donated by the Carmen Copper Corporation (CCC). The substation was built in Barangay Don Andres Soriano.

Supt. Henry Biñas, Toledo City Police Station chief, said he was grateful to the CCC for donating the two-story precinct.

The facility has a detention cell, lockers, a kitchen and a comfort room on the first floor, while the office of the police station chief, administrative office and the radio room are on the second floor.

The construction of the building started in October last year.

Meanwhile, Biñas said a new building for their main police station may also be constructed.

He said the Toledo City Government has allocated P5 million for the construction of the new police station.

The new police station, though, might be constructed in another location as the area where the current facility is will be used by the City for a new commercial complex.

Biñas said the new building will be located at the center of the city to better serve the public. Construction of the new police station, Biñas said, will start within the year.
