The operation of the Toledo copper mine is driven by a robust workforce made up of over 3,600 skilled workers and professionals. Recognizing that its manpower is its most valuable asset, the Company promotes their development and welfare and ensures that their rights under the law are protected.


Local Employment, Retention and Benefits

The Company employs 83 percent of its workforce from the local community where it operates.

The Company offers entry-level wages and cost-of-living allowances that are above legal requirements and industry standards. It also provides health plan, housing benefits, leave benefits, subsidized tuition at De La Salle Andres Soriano Memorial College, and access to free transportation services to and from their work areas, among other privileges that are not afforded in other organizations.

In 2014, the Company launched a Rewards and Recognition Program to recognize deserving employees for their commendable positive behaviour and innovation.


Learning and Growth

Atlas Mining invests heavily on trainings and other developmental interventions for the continued learning and growth of its workforce. Yearly, about 75 percent of its workers undergo various technical and behavioural competency-based training programs for their continuous improvement.

The Company also holds recreational, cultural, and social activities for employees to foster camaraderie and team spirit that enhance productivity.
